You Be You

I have the honor and privilege of spending my days with teenage and college aged young men and women. I love my role and honestly have the greatest job in the world that brings me joy daily.

Everyday, I encounter young people who are trying to fit into the identity the “world” tells them they should be. I am here to encourage you to be whatever you want to be, not what anyone else thinks you should be. The world doesn’t know the amazing beauty you possess.

Beauty isn’t in the eye of the beholder, it’s in the heart of the one who holds it

I love the words of Audrey Hepburn in the words below. The beauty in you is how you define it, not what the world defines for you.

When they asked her to reveal her beauty secrets, Audrey Hepburn wrote this beautiful text that was later read at her funeral.

′′ To have attractive lips, speak kind words.

To have a loving look, look for the good side of people.

To look skinny, share your food with the hungry.

To have beautiful hair, let a child cross it with his own fingers once a day.

To have a beautiful poise, walk knowing you’re never alone, because those who love and loved you accompany you.

People, even more than objects, need to be fixed, spoiled, awakened, wanted and saved: never give up on anyone.

Remember, if you ever need a hand, you’ll find them at the end of both your arms. When you become old, you will discover that you have two hands, one to help yourself, the second to help others.

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, in her face or in her way of fixing her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the door open to her heart, the source of her love.

The beauty of a woman doesn’t lie in her makeup, but the true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the tenderness that gives love, the passion that it expresses.

The beauty of a woman grows over the years ′′

You Define Your Future

Many people have opinions about who you should be, what path you should take and how you should make choices for your life.

I encourage you to blaze your own trail. Of course, I would always encourage you to listen to those who love you and know you best because sometimes we are all capable of making irrational choices in times of stress or anxiety. Check in with those people who know and love you best, then make list of pros and cons of the choice you are about to make and then make the decision that is best for you.

Once you make a decision, walk confidently in that choice until you know of a different path you should take.

Most importantly, don’t let fear of the unknown paralyze you from moving forward. Moving forward requires faith and courage but it’s the only way to find growth. Always keep in mind, mistakes aren’t permanent. If you make a mistake, you can change your course.

Remember, you are capable, you can make the best choices for your future and your future is BRIGHT!
